3. 3DEMGEOSTATS
A multiscale resolution DEM processing using wavelet-based filtering
techniques, 3D analyses and geostatistics
- Type: Sciex PostDoc ( 2012-2013)
- Funded: Swiss National Science Foundation
- Host/Home mentor: François Golay ,EPFL / Ileana Pătru-Stupariu , University of Bucharest
- Fellow: PostDoc: Magdalena Năpăruş
- Description: The proposed research intends to produce a detailed model, linking the multiscale wavelet-based digital elevation model with landscape vulnerability. The model will contain gathered properties of the studied area (topographical surface analysis, constraints, limitations and aggression factors of landscape), with an important ambition to serve as a methodological basis for a future evaluation of the landscape ecological potential and vulnerability of the whole Carpathians region.

4. WBI
Landscape monitoring of the national parks through the tools of landscape ecology
(Monitoring paysager des parcs nationaux grâce aux outils de l’écologie du paysage).
- Type: interdisciplinary project ( 2012-2013)
- Funded: WBI
- Team: University of Liege, Belgium : Serge Schmitz , Vincent Vanderheryden, Alexandre Lavillaugouet / University of Bucharest: Ileana Pătru-Stupariu, Alexandra Teleucă
- Description: The research project aims to exchange and improve the methods of landscape monitoring in areas recognized for their high biological and geographical quality. It aims to select the indicators that seem most relevant to the purpose of managing the rural areas of great biological and geographical value, to test their operability in two countries where digital map data are not comparable and to discuss the relevance of their associations in a working group with various stakeholders.
